Psychic Clearing

We all have times in our life when we meet, or interact with people who give us the proverbial 'heebie jeebies' or goosebumps, but not in a good way. When this  happens it may be that the energy that interacts with our aura, is dissonant, or it may be that we have encountered negative emotions, a psychic vampire, or a toxic situation

Some thing simple to do is a shower meditation, and this is a practice I have included into my daily spiritual discipline/practice.

Cleanse, clear and release all negative thoughts and energy

When I arrive home from my travels, I mentally take off any psychic armor and trapped hitch-hiking energy attachments and put it in the metaphorical bin outside the house. This way when I enter my home, I am entering a safe and clear energy space.

SPIRITUALLY CLEANSING THE HOME
In our home, we may encounter various 'yucky' energies and negative spirits, attached to objects, or the people who visit us, and leave their 'friends' behind. Spirits may be wandering simply because they are not ready to move on, or remain attached to this plane for some long forgotten reason. There are various methods to help spirits move on, or psychically and spiritually cleanse a home or a work place. If you are at all unsure, then do seek guidance from a professional.

SALT
Salt has been used for centuries as a protection against unwanted spirits or entities, and at times, to form a tight protection for land.

Bless a bowl of salt, and throw it in handfuls around the room, or thresholds with the Intention that the spirits or energies begone. You can proclaim this out loud with words of your own choosing (using your own words so much better than parroting another person's phrases).

SMUDGING - INCENSE

You may use incense to cleanse a space, using the cones, or the loose incense. On a heat proof plate, place a charcoal disc (never use BBQ charcoal which is toxic, use special incense discs). When the incense is fully lit, sprinkle on your chosen incense, or place a cone on the disc. Open all the doors and windows of the room, if you wish to work room by room, or at the base of the stairs if you wish to cleanse the house. The incense smoke is used to ‘wash’ away negative energies and emotions, thus cleansing the atmosphere. Likewise, incense can also be used to purify the hearts and minds of the participants prior to sacred ceremonies, meditations and rituals.

Above is the type of incense I use. You can leave the smoke to waft through the rooms, and often I will use this in a healing room, to create a sacred healing space. I frequently use incense before rituals, but that's another story.

SMUDGING - SAGE WAND

Smudging is originally a Native American tradition where certain herbs are burned and the smoke is directed by a feather to become a cleansing smoke bath. I also use my hand, and sometimes I use a shell to stabilize the sage stick.  There are many different ceremonies, and rituals and ways to use this technique; there is no definitive technique that must be adhered to, rather, you may find what works for your cleansing practice. The most common herbs used are Sage, Cedar or Juniper, Lavender and Sweetgrass.

You may use the smoke to cleanse a room, a house, a healing space, or a sacred space or even very simply your own aura.

FLUFFING OR BRUSHING - AURA CLEARING

In a similar manner to smudging, you may use a white feather, or a feather of any colour that resonates with you as cleansing, to brush your aura clear of any astral hitch-hikers, unwanted attachments, little entities, or negative energies, emotions and thoughts.
Twice daily I fluff my aura, which may look undignified, silly and odd, but it does help maintain a healthy and clear aura.

POSITIVE BREATHING

Deep Breathing is a good way to cleanse your own aura, and this will help when you work to cleanse a space.

·     Choose a nice quiet place where you won’t be disturbed.
·        Seat yourself comfortably.
·        Take deep breaths in through the nose and out through the mouth.

·        After a couple of minutes of deep breathing, imagine that you have a ball of pure white light above your head. Imagine this light becomes brighter, and you may even start to see gold within the light

·        Imagine this light growing larger and brighter and then bring it down slowly towards your head, allowing it to penetrate the aura and feeling the brightness and lightness of this beautiful light as it works its way down your body. You may feel a little light headed as the light moves through your body. This is normal and it will pass
 ·       Envision the light as it continues to move down your body and out through the soles of your feet. Imagine then that you have roots beneath your feet and the negative energy is flowing down through these roots deep into the Earth. The energy that has been drawn away will then be neutralized by Mother Earth.

·      Now imagine the roots turn bright white, they may even sparkle with flecks of silver and gold. This is pure clean energy that you may now imagine as it moves back up through the roots, up through the soles of your feet and into every part of your body, radiating outwards so that your whole aura is filled with this pure white light. When the light reaches the top of your head, allow it to move upwards into the aura above your head.
·        Take a few more deep breaths and allow yourself to focus on the sounds all around you and the place your are sitting so that you are grounded, and once more back in the material world.

COMPOSITION OF THE AURA

The aura is a mirror that reflects your state of being. When you have intense feelings and emotions, the aura will expand – and when these are feelings usually it expands from the solar plexus.

By thinking about someone, a piece of your aura will form into a tentacle that reaches out towards them. In extreme situations or intensely held thoughts – this will lead to circumstances where this tentacle will attach – a hitchhiker – into the other persons aura. However this is like giving away a piece of yourself to another  - and this is often seen in the heart centre as an intense love affair ends.

SEEING THE AURA

You can train yourself to see the aura by standing in front of a pale or white background in front of a mirror - dim the lights - and then you might catch a glimpse of it in the corner of your eye, although it may be a flash and fade quickly. With practice you can improve the duration of that flash by doing the following exercise. If you do not 'see', use your mind to sense.

EXERCISE – Feeling the Aura

Choose a time when you are calm and relaxed and unlikely to be disturbed.
Stand so you can reach out around yourself.

(This exercise can be performed sitting if you prefer and with your eyes open or closed, whichever feels more appropriate,)

Spend a few moments breathing quietly and easily and attuning to your body.

Then take your attention down to the palms of your hands. As you focus your attention you may find that your palms begin to tingle.

Reach up above your head and use your hands to sense where your aura is. You will probably be aware of it as an energy field. Check how far out it extends and move your hands around the edge of your aura from your head to your feet.  Then do the sides and finally the back of your body. (If you cannot reach with your hands use your mind to check out this area.)

Check how far out the aura extends and notice any places where the energy breaks  up or feels different in any way.

If you find that your aura extends a long way out, or is close to your body, try playing with the aura. Use your hand to pull or push it into a more appropriate distance from your body.

Then go over your entire aura checking for breaks and ‘holes’ (which can feel ‘cold’ or energy-less). Use your hands to put extra energy into that place, pulling the edges of the aura together. (You may notice that something is attached to your aura. If you do and it is possible to remove it, do so and then picture a plaster of healing light sealing up the place where it was attached.)

Then experiment with your aura and the ability your mind has to control it. If your eyes are open, close them gently. Picture your aura expanding and then contracting. Really let yourself feel the process happening. (If necessary check with your hands that the aura has responded.) Push it in, and drawn it out until you feel comfortable with the process. Then let your aura settle at an appropriate distance from your body.

When you are ready, open your eyes. Take your attention down to your feet and feel your feet on the earth. Be aware that your feet are connected to the Earth, grounding  you. With your eyes wide open, take a deep breath and stand up with your feet firmly on the Earth.

(If you find it difficult to visualize, use your hands to sense where your aura is and continue until you can sense where it is in your mind alone.)

Perform this exercise twice day until you can instinctively feel you aura and where it is at any time by simply closing your eyes for a moment and scanning your body.

THE LIGHT BUBBLE

Visualize or sense your aura entirely surrounded and enclosed by light. You may find it easier to start with the light over your head and bring this down around your body, working it towards your feet. Make sure the light bubble goes under your feet and seals there.

You can also crystallize the outer edges of your aura for additional protection.
Simple visualize, sense or know, yourself to be standing inside a large hollow crystal that is filled with light. I frequently use amethyst on the inside and a black tourmaline exterior of the crystal which deflects all negative energy.
